Vastu for Farm House

Vastu requirements for farmland differ slightly, and having a vacation home with the right placement is essential for relaxation. The most advisable positioning for a farmhouse according to Vastu, is to construct your home on the South-Western side of your plot. Agricultural rules for Vastu state that the land must be levelled evenly. In case the land itself is a slope, it is recommended that the slope of the land is either facing the North or the South. It is advisable to the farmhouse owner that she/he should not only take care of the Vastu positioning at the time of construction, but also ensure that the furniture inside is placed accordingly.

Here are some key points to ensure that your farmhouse is in accordance to the Vastu rules:

Levelled Land is a Must

Unlevelled land is believed to have an adverse effect on the land owner’s finances. Agricultural land must be levelled, according to the Vastu rules. If this is not possible, it is advised that the slope of the land must be towards either the north or towards the south. It is believed that a downward slope on agricultural land will cause the owner’s expenditures to surpass their income, thus causing them a significant loss.

Construction of Compound Wall

Your compound wall for an agricultural plot must be ideally on the south and the west side of the field’s South-Western direction. The dimensions of this wall must have a minimum of 6 feet for the height, and must be 10-20 feet in length. Constructing your compound wall in such a way ensures the best conditions for agricultural produce.

It is of utmost importance that these walls must never be built in the eastern or northern directions.

Direction for Agricultural Equipment

In order to produce the best results, the farming/agricultural equipment must be placed facing the southern or the south-western directions. Farm vehicles (thrasher machines, bullock carts, tractors), though, must be stored in the north or north-west directions. Placing the farming equipment in the north, east, or north-eastern directions will have an adverse effect on crop production.

Pit for Sacred Fire

A space for a sacred fire must always be reserved, according to the Vastu Shastra practices. There must be a first offering to Lord Agni, so that a good Vastu is maintained for your agricultural land. Bundles from the first, new harvest should be placed in the eastern direction and be honoured with kunku and tamarind. It is necessary to note that in case the auspicious event of a new moon falls within the harvest season, a ritual must be conducted in the evening, where a coconut must be cracked in the field while turned in the eastern direction.

Sowing Seeds

New crops must always be planted on an auspicious day, while chanting hymns. The Surya Mantra and the Gayatri Mantra are considered the most ideal hymns for this occasion, as they are said to invoke blessing from god before beginning any new task. The ideal days for this occasion are Saturdays and Tuesdays, and the sowing process should begin from the south-eastern direction and continued in a clockwise direction.

Plant Tall Trees

The Vastu compliance of agricultural land can be improved by placing tall trees in the south or western directions of your land. It is not advisable to plant trees in the northern or eastern sides of your property.

Vastu for a Borewell in your Farm

Water is one of life’s most essential components, and thus it is very important to understand the placement of any water body within your property. According to the Vastu shastra, below ground tanks and borewells should be placed in the north-eastern facing direction of the northern and eastern sides of your land. A well must never be placed in the south-western, north-western, and south-eastern directions as it can cause negative effects on your property. In addition to this, the pipe system for the water supply must be built from the south to the north directions.

Vastu Tips for Plots

According to many agriculture Vastu experts, one of the most important things to keep in mind while buying farmland is the shape of the plot. It is preferred if the shape of the plot is either square or rectangular. Further, the land should not have a cut in the southeast or southwest direction. Any compound wall or soil wall that is raised in height should be duly removed in order to maintain the shape integrity of the plot.

It is important that under no circumstances the land must be facing the south or the western directions. It is most ill-advised for your crops and growth, it directly affects the agricultural yield of the land. In case of a slope, it must be facing either the north or the eastern directions. An adherence to these Vastu rules will ensure a good produce yield for your land, and an abundance of prosperity in your household.
